The Graduate in Family Science is a counselor and family advisor, who solves the problems that occur in families, helping to develop interpersonal relationships in an appropriate way.

An expert in every social discipline which addresses family issues, such as family sociology, family psychology and family therapy.

His field is *mediation and conflict resolution in family.

Specific tasks or activities carried out in the profession

He advises on sexual issues, *bioethics, relationships, family *dynamics and everything that concerns the family.

He considers affective, emotional and behavioral aspects of the family interaction.

He diagnoses problems in the family counseling area, addressing the conflict in marital and family relationships.

He develops questions or reflections that allow the patient himself to generate alternatives and/or new possibilities to his problem.

He plans, designs and implements effective *therapeutic interventions.

He can make referrals of specialized professionals in case of major difficulties.

He carries out the Family *Mediation process establishing its steps and characteristics.

He deals with extrajudicial *mediation by facilitating an agreement on alimony issues, *heritage or children, without any of the parties feeling losing after the process.

He deals with intra-judicial *mediation, that is, *mediation in the legal framework, contemplating:

-The Negotiation Phase and Writing and Signing Phase of agreements.

-Negotiation of *parental responsibilities.

-Negotiation of economic aspects.

He designs, teaches and conducts training programs such as premarital courses, school for parents and teaching.

He gives series of conferences, workshops, session about family education in educational centers, clubs or associations, providing an effective support to parents and professionals such as a family counselor, being a guide and support in the care of people in their family dimension, in the process of educating children and in recognizing conflicts.

He supports educators by providing knowledge and tools necessary to promote the family-school collaboration.

He designs and coordinates local and national congresses.

He provides advice on education issues in multidisciplinary family support teams in education centers and companies.

He defines, establishes and/or suggests actions that achieve the prevention of issues related to the interactions of couple and family.

He collaborates in the design and implementation of public policies with a family perspective.

He collaborates actively in media producing contents.

He directs and coordinates projects of social impact in civil associations, foundations and governmental institutions.

He investigates the social changes that are being produced in the world and their impact, especially on family.

He analyzes the effects that Public Policies have on the family.
